New Delhi, Mar 23: The BJP’s Central Election Committee met right here on Saturday to finalise the occasion’s candidates in a number of states for the Lok Sabha polls.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Residence Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP president J P Nadda had been joined by different CEC members as they went over the checklist of probables to take a last name.
The states for which candidates had been tipped to be mentioned embody Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The CEC has met twice earlier and has named candidates for 291 Lok Sabha seats up to now, together with in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Kerala and Telangana amongst others.
The BJP is but to broadcasts candidates for a lot of seats in a few of these states.
At the least three of the declared candidates, together with Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh, have withdrawn from the fray after their names drew some controversy or different.
The names of the main figures of the occasion, together with Modi, Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, have already been introduced for the polls and all of them are contesting from their present constituencies.
The seven-phase polls are set to be held between April 19 and June 1 to elect MPs for 543 Lok Sabha seats, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4. (Businesses)
