Srinagar, Mar 24: Appearing swiftly, police on Sunday arrested an accused concerned within the alleged stabbing of his uncle in Hafta Yarbal space of Safakadal in central Kashmir’s Srinagar.
In keeping with police spokesperson, throughout early morning hours of March 24, 2024 a person specifically Fayaz Ahmad Ganie, (aged 32), son of Wali Mohammad Ganie resident of Hafta Yarbal Safakadal, (butcher by occupation) was dropped at SMHS Hospital by his members of the family in an injured situation. The attending docs on the hospital pronounced him lifeless upon arrival.
The preliminary investigation reveals that an altercation occurred close to the sufferer’s residence in a slaughterhouse, between one butcher specifically Irfan Ahmad Ganie and his uncle specifically Nisar Ahmad Ganie. The deceased Fayaz Ahmad Ganie intervened on this altercation and in the course of the ensuing scuffle Irfan Ahmad Ganie stabbed the sufferer resulting in his demise, police spokesperson stated.
He added that appearing swiftly, police arrested the accused particular person Irfan Ahmad Ganie son of Mohd Shafi Ganie resident of Hafta Yarbal Safakadal (nephew of the sufferer) inside hours after the incident.
On this regard, a case FIR No. 29/2024 beneath related sections of regulation has been registered in Police Station Safakadal, spokesperson stated and added the weapon of offence has been seized.
He added that forensic evaluation and medico-legal procedures are at the moment underway and additional investigation is happening.
