He asserted that the idea of “one flag, one prime minister, one Structure” was not a political slogan and the BJP firmly believes within the precept and at last carried out it with regard to Jammu and Kashmir.
Responding to a comment by TMC’s Saugata Roy in Lok Sabha that “ek nishan, ek pradhan, ek samvidhan (one flag, one head, one Structure)” was a “political slogan”, Shah questioned as to how can a rustic have two prime ministers, two constitutions and two flags.
He mentioned Roy’s remarks have been “objectionable”.
Whereas responding to a comment from the opposition benches, Shah mentioned, “Whosoever did it was incorrect. Narendra Modi has corrected it. Your approval or disagreement don’t matter. The complete nation needed it.”
This remark was made in an obvious reference to the abrogation of provisions of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
He went on to state that “one image, one head, one Structure” was not an election slogan.
“We had been saying since 1950 {that a} nation ought to have one PM, one flag and one Structure and never two and now we have executed it.”
