Srinagar- Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Monday trapped and arrested Dr. Bilquees Ara Siddiqui, Scientist-B of State Air pollution Management Board (SPCB), Srinagar for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹5,000.
In an announcement, ACB mentioned that it acquired a written grievance in opposition to Dr. Bilquees Ara, Scientist-B within the State Air pollution Management Board for demanding bribes for issuance of ‘Consent To Function’ (CTO) for a bakery unit situated at Industrial Property, Khunmoh.
“The complainant in his grievance alleged that he had utilized for ‘Consent To Function’ (CTO) from the Air pollution Management Board within the month of Nov-2023. His software was pending with Dr. Bilquees (accused) who was unnecessarily delaying the matter. It was additional alleged that on sixth of this month, the complainant visited the accused on the PCB workplace and requested her to course of his case. She demanded ₹20,000 as a bribe from the complainant for the issuance of CTO. Nevertheless, after negotiation, the quantity was settled as ₹5,000,” reads the assertion.
