Srinagar: There was a whopping 67.5% decline in manufacturing of Saffron in Kashmir Valley from 2010-11 to 2023-24, the federal government mentioned on Tuesday.
“As per the estimates offered by the Workplace of Monetary Commissioner (Income), UT of Jammu & Kashmir, the manufacturing of saffron in Jammu and Kashmir has decreased from 8.0 MT in 2010-11 to 2.6 MT in 2023-24 (provisional), leading to an total decline in manufacturing by about 67.5% over the interval,” minister of agriculture and farmers welfare Arjun Munda mentioned in reply to a written question by Nationwide Convention’s MP Hasnain Masoodi.
