SRINAGAR: Anantnag district has surpassed Pulwama district in milk manufacturing, incomes the title of the ‘New Anand of Kashmir’.
Anantnag is presently producing 7.29 lakh litres of milk per day. Officers stated the annual milk manufacturing within the district is roughly 266.35 thousand tonnes, surpassing Pulwama, which has an annual milk manufacturing of 262.95 thousand tonnes.
Different districts reported various ranges of milk manufacturing, with Budgam at 240.70 thousand tonnes, Baramulla at 199.85 thousand tonnes, Kulgam at 161 thousand tonnes, Kupwara at 153.95 thousand tonnes, Bandipora at 119.98 thousand tonnes and Srinagar at 100.410 thousand tonnes.
Ganderbal and Shopian recorded the bottom milk manufacturing, with 96.37 thousand tonnes and 72.96 thousand tonnes yearly, respectively.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO), Anantnag, Javid Mohi ud Din Zargar, attributed the success to the Built-in Diary Scheme (IDS), which has improved the financial situations of livestock holders. He stated a subsidy of Rs 1,17,00,000 was disbursed amongst 221 beneficiaries for the primary three quarters of the present monetary 12 months.
“The brand new models not solely contributed to elevated milk manufacturing but additionally generated employment for native youth and promoted natural farming,” he stated.
Officers from the animal husbandry division within the district stated Anantnag’s farmers have adopted fashionable strategies, together with superior breeding strategies and improved diet for dairy cattle.
These efforts have led to increased milk yields per cow, contributing to the general progress in manufacturing, they stated. “Authorities schemes supporting the dairy business, resembling subsidies on cattle feed, veterinary providers and monetary help for infrastructure growth have performed a pivotal position in encouraging farmers to spend money on their dairy operations,” they added.
