New Delhi: The Military has ordered a radical inner investigation into the deaths of three civilians within the Poonch district following allegations that they died in its custody, folks aware of the matter mentioned on Sunday.
The three civilians had been allegedly picked up by the Military for questioning within the wake of the killing of 4 Military jawans in an ambush by unidentified terrorists in Poonch on December 21.
The three civilians, aged between 27 and 42, had been discovered lifeless on December 22.
Their kin and political leaders have alleged that the three died because of “custodial torture” as they had been among the many eight folks picked up by the Military for questioning.
A radical investigation has been ordered into it (the deaths of the civilians) as a part of the usual working process, the folks cited above mentioned.
The Jammu and Kashmir police are additionally probing the deaths.
The Military on Saturday mentioned it stands dedicated to extending “full assist and cooperation” within the conduct of investigation.PTI
