Srinagar, Dec 3: The Border Safety Drive (BSF) celebrated its 59th Elevating Day on the Frontier Headquarter right here on Sunday, a spokesman mentioned.
The spokesman in a press release mentioned the BSF, an elite drive of the nation, was raised on December 1, 1965, with “major duty to safeguard the worldwide border”.
“Later with the passage of time, it established its mettle within the inside legislation and order duties, Anti-naxal operations, CI position in Punjab and Kashmir together with sustaining the sanctity, integrity and safeguarding the IB and LoC of the nation,” he added.
The BSF spokesman mentioned the drive accomplished 58 years of its “devoted, distinguished and superb service to the nation” on December 1, 2023.
He mentioned {that a} cultural programme and ‘barakhana’ was organised on the event of the BSF Elevating Day for the veterans of the drive and all personnel posted on the Frontier Headquarter and Subsidiary Coaching Centre Kashmir.
