Srinagar- The Indian Air Drive (IAF) carried out in a single day trial run on 3.5 km-long emergency touchdown strip on Jammu-Srinagar nationwide freeway in Bijbehara space of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officers mentioned on Tuesday.
Quoting an official, information company KNO reported that the IAF carried out no less than 9 trails on the strip through the night time, which began at round 03:45 am and concluded by 04:30 am.
“In the course of the trial, site visitors was diverted via different route, whereas areas on each side of the strip have been fully sanitised, and a three-tier safety was put in place,” he added.
He mentioned the trials carried out by the IAF have been aimed toward ascertaining the feasibility of touchdown for which Chinook helicopter was used.
