J&K govt publicizes holidays on ballot dates in 5 LS constituencies

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir authorities on Monday introduced public vacation on ballot dates in 5 parliamentary constituencies within the Union Territory.

As per a authorities order, issued by the GAD, the federal government has notified 5 days as holidays below part 135 B of the Illustration of the Folks Act 1951.

The order additionally declared the ballot day as paid vacation for each eligible voter employed in any enterprise, commerce, industrial undertakings or every other institution.

The order added that the day by day wage and informal employees shall even be entitled for the vacation and wages on the ballot day.

In keeping with the order, the polling day of April 19 (Friday) shall be a vacation in Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency. In Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, April 26 (Friday) shall be noticed as the vacation on account of polling day.

Equally, for the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency, the polling day of Might 07 (Tuesday) shall be a vacation. For Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, the polling day of Might 13 (Monday) shall be noticed as a vacation.

Likewise, the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency will observe Might 20 (Monday) as vacation on account of polling day.
