No simultaneous Lok Sabha, Meeting polls for J&K: Chief Election Commissioner

New Delhi, Mar 16: Jammu and Kashmir is not going to maintain simultaneous Lok Sabha and Meeting polls, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar mentioned Saturday, because the Election Fee of India introduced dates for the final election and 4 state polls.

Addressing a press convention in New Delhi to announce the Lok Sabha polls schedule and 4 state assemblies, CEC Rajiv Kumar mentioned that solely 4 states will go concurrently to polls together with Lok Sabha and there shall be no meeting polls in J&Ok.

He mentioned that meeting polls shall be held in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh together with the Lok Sabha polls.

“The Lok Sabha polls will start from April 19 and shall be held in 7 phases. He mentioned that counting of votes shall be held on June 04,” he mentioned.

He additionally mentioned that polls to five Lok Sabha constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir shall be held in 5 phases and just one J&Ok constituency will go to polls in every part.

In keeping with Election Commissioner of India the primary part shall be held on April 19, second on April 26, third on seventh Might, 4th on thirteenth Might, fifth on twentieth Might, sixth on twenty fifth and seventh on June 01.

Throughout J&Ok, there are almost 87 lakh voters, together with 3.4 lakh who will train their franchise for the primary time. As many as 11,629 polling stations shall be arrange for them.
