Srinagar, Jan 20: Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, Shahnawaz Bukhari, clarified on Saturday that the just lately launched amnesty scheme for over 15 years outdated automobiles in Kashmir applies to buses solely . The RTO chief had a week ago invited owners of these buses to avail the scheme. 

Whereas briefing press, the RTO stated that the subsidy scheme of Rs 5 lakh is particularly focused at bus house owners whose buses have surpassed the 15-year life span.

“Bus house owners with buses exceeding 15 years in service, looking for the subsidy for a brand new bus, can submit their functions at our workplace. The method shall be carried out accordingly,” Shahnawaz Bukhari knowledgeable.

Responding to queries concerning the backlog in driving license issuances, the RTO stated that the printing of driving licenses has been outsourced to a authorities company.

He assured that efforts shall be made to clear the backlog throughout the subsequent 15 to 30 days.
