JAMMU: The Jammu crime department on Friday produced a chargesheet earlier than an area courtroom towards a sarpanch and a property vendor in a land fraud case, officers stated.
The accused, recognized as Karanjeet Singh and Rajinder Singh alias Rinku (naib sarpanch), each residents of Suchetgarh, in Ranbir Singh Pura sub-division, had allegedly hatched a felony conspiracy and cheated the complainant, Maqsood Ahmed, from the identical sub-division.
The complainant had bought a plot of 15 marlas at Drawtay in RS Pura from Karanjeet Singh, a property vendor, and naib sarpanch Rajinder Singh for a financial consideration of ₹27 lakh. For this, he had paid ₹15 lakh as advance.
Later, ₹10 lakh had been deposited within the account of accused, Rajinder Singh, and ₹5 lakh was paid in money to accused Karanjeet Singh.
Accordingly, an settlement deed was signed on December 26, 2020.
“The complainant approached accused Karanjeet Singh for steadiness cost and execution of sale deed, however accused refused to take action. He approached him once more with a request to refund his cost in case he’s not capable of handover him possession, to which Karanjeet Singh threatened to kill the sufferer’s household,” an official spokesperson stated.
The accused issued cheques in favour of the sufferer, which had been dishonoured by banks as a result of inadequate steadiness, thus duping the complainant on the pretext of sale of land.
Throughout investigation, all materials proof, within the type of documentary file, was collected from quarters involved and statements of complainants and witnesses had been recorded. The offences had been established towards each the accused for dishonest and duping the complainant of ₹20 lakh.
