SRINAGAR: Kashmir’s Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Tuesday stated that Eid-ul-Fitr could be celebrated throughout Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow – Wednesday – as witnesses have been on document on the sighting of the Shawaal moon. Muslims internationally comply with the lunar calendar and the sighting of the Shawwal crescent marks the conclusion of the month of fasting and Eid.
Studies of sightings of the Shawwal moon have been confirmed in numerous places, indicating that Eid might be celebrated tomorrow, he stated.
The Mufti extends felicitations to the individuals of Jammu and Kashmir, wishing for peace and prosperity all through the area on this auspicious event.
“I felicitate the individuals of J&Ok on the auspicious event of Eid and pray to Almighty Allah that this auspicious event be the harbinger of peace and prosperity for your complete J&Ok”, the highest cleric stated.
Earlier, after the Magrib prayers, he had conveyed that since there are stories of crescent sights in Chenab Valley and Kargil, individuals should delay their Tarvih prayers. Kargil has already introduced that they’ve sighted the moon and they are going to be celebrating Eid on Wednesday. Ladakh has a transparent sky for many of the 12 months.
