SRINAGAR, Jan 13: A 24-year-old soldier has died whereas finishing up an “operational activity” in a ahead space close to the Line of Management (LoC) in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Military mentioned on Friday.
It mentioned Gurpreet Singh, who died on Thursday, was from Punjab’s Gurdaspur and is survived by his mom Lakhwinder Kaur.
“Chinar Corps regrets the unlucky demise of Gnr Gurpreet Singh whereas performing operational activity in ahead space in #Baramulla Sector,” the Military’s Chinar Corps mentioned in a publish on ‘X’.
“On this hour of grief, the #IndianArmy stands in solidarity with the bereaved household & is dedicated to their well-being,” it mentioned.
“On behalf of #ChinarCorps Cdr, GOC 31 Sub Space, COS HQ Chinar Corps & all ranks laid wreath and paid homage to Gnr Gurpreet Singh of 18 RR Bn, who made the supreme sacrifice within the line of obligation on 11 Jan 2024. Our deepest condolences to the bereaved household,” the Military mentioned.
