NIA arrests juvenile in Rajouri assault case

The Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) on Saturday arrested a juvenile for harbouring terrorists concerned within the killing of 5 civilians in Dhangri village of Rajouri in January final 12 months.

In an announcement, issued to the information company—Kashmir Information Observer (KNO), the juvenile was by the way lodged at Remark House in Jammu in one other case, registered at Police Station Gursai.

“He was taken into custody yesterday by the NIA and produced earlier than the Juvenile Justice Board, Rajouri, for remand,” reads the assertion.

It reads that the assault had taken place on 1st January, 2023, and 5 individuals belonging to the minority Hindu neighborhood had been killed and several other severely injured.

“The case was initially registered as FIR no. 01/2023 at PS Rajouri u/s 302/ 307 /120-B/452/323 of IPC, sections 13/16/18 of UA (P) Act 1967 and sections 7/27 of Arms Act. NIA had taken over and re-registered the case on thirteenth January.”

It added that the investigation by the NIA had revealed that the juvenile, together with two different earlier arrested individuals specifically Nisar Ahmed @ Haji Nisar and Mushtaq Hussain @ Chacha, was concerned in harbouring the terrorists who had carried out the horrendous assault.

“Nisar Ahmed and Mushtaq Hussain had been arrested by the NIA on thirty first August 2023, and are presently lodged at Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.”

It reads that the duo had supplied logistic help to the terrorists for greater than two months and had sheltered them in a hideout which they’d constructed on the instructions of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) handlers, specifically Saifullah @ Sajid Jutt, Abu Qatal @ Qatal Sindhi and Mohd. Qasim.

“A staff of NIA officers had commonly camped within the hilly terrain of Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi districts of J & Ok seeking precise perpetrators of the offence throughout the course of investigations. The staff examined numerous suspicious entities and later zeroed in on the above-mentioned accused individuals who had supplied logistic help to the terrorists.
