Residential home car hooked up for harbouring militants in Baramulla: Police

The Jammu Kashmir Police in Baramulla hooked up a residential home and car ‘falling inside ambit of proceeds of militancy’ in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“Persevering with its crackdown on harbouring militants and offering logistic assist to them, police have hooked up a residential home & car (Swift Automobile) beneath sections of 25 UA (P) Act in Baramulla”, reads an announcement issued to GNS.

“In the course of the investigation of the case vide FIR No. 104/2023 U/S 7/25 I.A Act, 120-B IPC, 13,16,18,23 UA (P) Act of Police Station Uri, one car (Swift Automobile) bearing registration quantity quantity CH01AD-9588 was seized because the stated car was used for transportation of unlawful Arms/Ammunition from one place to a different for militant actions.

Subsequently, in pursuance of powers U/S 25 of UA (P) Act, DySP SIU Baramulla, CIO of the case hooked up the stated property (Swift Automobile) falling inside the ambit of proceeds of militancy after acquiring approval from competent authority”, reads the assertion.

“Equally, in the course of the investigation of case FIR No. 46/2023 U/S 307 IPC, 7/27 Arms Act, and the Part 16,18,19, 20 and 38 of UA (P) Act of Police Station, Kreeri, one residential home of Farooq Ahmad Bhat son of Late Ghulam Mohammad resident of Wanigam Payeen on land survey quantity 2020 min & 2021 min located at Wanigam Payeen was hooked up because the stated home was used for harbouring militants.

Subsequently, in pursuance of powers U/S 25 of UA (P) Act, Dr. Khalid Ashraf- JKPS, DySP Ops Kreeri IO of the case hooked up the stated residential home falling inside the ambit of proceeds of militancy after acquiring approval from competent authority”, reads the assertion additional. (GNS)
