Seven Kashmiri college students detained for celebrating India’s loss in cricket World Cup finals

In Ganderbal, Kashmir, a dispute unfolded between seven college students from Sher-e-Kashmir College of Agricultural Sciences and Know-how and friends from outdoors Jammu Kashmir after India’s defeat to Australia within the males’s Cricket World Cup remaining on November 19, as per The Scroll.

The complainant accused seven native Kashmiri college students from the college’s veterinary sciences and animal husbandry division of verbally abusing and threatening him for supporting India, with alleged threats of violence included.

The accused college students reportedly shouted pro-Pakistan slogans after the match, inflicting apprehension amongst non native college students.

Though there was no bodily altercation, a video capturing the alleged sloganeering contained in the hostel was submitted to the police.

An nameless college official expressed remorse over the incident, noting, “It’s an unlucky incident. These college students are on the verge of the completion of their levels.”

The accused college students, primarily fourth-year undergraduates in veterinary sciences and animal husbandry, are presently in police custody.
